Community service — helping your home and feeling at home.
Volunteer work at Michigan gives you a new way to explore Ann Arbor, and delve into other communities in Michigan or around the world. Through community service, you can make connections with other volunteers, coordinators, and community members, and know that across the whole journey, you’re helping others with an impactful mission in mind.
University life can be hectic, but there are plenty of chances to slow down, get involved, and think outside the box. This includes managing a one-time project, attending meetings that culminate in major events throughout the school year or during the summer, or volunteering at an organization for a few hours a week. Check out Community Service Opportunities available through Michigan Engineering and U-M for you to take advantage of.
Want to make a difference, but not sure where to start your community service? Visit the Ginsberg Center, an office solely devoted to helping students learn through service. The Center’s advisors will work with you to find the perfect fit, whether it’s tutoring young kids or working in a food kitchen.
